Brie Larson (born October 1, 1989 ) is an actress and singer from Sacramento, California . She played a role in songwriting and playing guitar on her successful debut album through the single “She Said”. Initially she decided to become an actress when she was 7 years old and then moved to Los Angeles.

Biography

Brie Larson was born in Sacramento , California , daughter of Sylvain and Heather Desaulniers. Her parents were chiropractors and exercised together.  When they separated during his childhood, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother and sister. After her education at home,  studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

Her paternal grandparents were of Franco-Canadian origin , from Manitoba . Her paternal grandmother, Gabrielle Desaulniers, died in December 2015.  When she grew up, Larson’s first language was French .  Brie stated in an interview that she chose “Larson,” as her stage name for her Swedish great-grandmother’s maiden name, since her last name was too difficult to pronounce.  But in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon declared that she took his stage name from Kirsten Larson, an American Girl doll he received as a child.

Personal life

Brie Larson has been single since early 2019 and ended her romantic relationship with California rock singer Alex Greenwald , former vocalist for the Phantom Planet band .  In an interview with the Spanish daily El Confidencial , said: ” We both share a great love for art and history, especially the Renaissance.”

In addition to being currently vegan , it carries out a gluten-free diet .

In February 2016, in an interview with Elle magazine , Larson revealed that he has not talked to her father for more than ten years.

Career

Acting career

Larson’s first job was making sketches on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Shortly after, she was in the television series Schimmel, which was never broadcast because her star, Robert Schimmel, was diagnosed with cancer shortly before filming began.  After she was “on hold” for ten months, Fox canceled the show. Larson later auditioned for a new show for The WB in In Your Dreams , and got the role of Bob Saget’s youngest daughter, Emily. The show was selected for the period 2001-02 fall season, and was renamed Raising Dad. Then it was canceled after 27 episodes. Larson was also chosen for the pilot of the ABC comedy Hope & Faith , but she and some other cast members were removed after the pilot was not aired.

In 2003, she starred alongside Beverley Mitchell in the original Disney Channel movie , Right on Track . In July 2004, he co-starred with a large cast of teenage actors in the movie Sleepover .  She also had a small role in the movie 13 Going on 30 .  Larson appeared in the 2006 film Hoot , along with Logan Lerman and Cody Linley . She lent her voice in the movie Farce of the Penguins as a teenage penguin. She played Angie in the 2007 dramatic comedy, Remember the Dazeand also appeared in the 2008 short film “The Babysitter” , written and directed by David H. Steinberg. She appeared in an episode of Ghost Whisperer in

January 2008. She also had a role as Kate in the 2008 film: Tanner Hall, directed by Francesca Gregorini and Tatiana von Fürstenberg. Larson played the character of Kate Gregson in the Showtime series : United States of Tara . The series premiered on January 18, 2009 and was not renewed after its third season. In 2012, Larson played Molly in the film adaptation of the popular 1980 television series: 21 Jump Street , co-starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum . In 2013, she was a guest star playing Rachel in an episode of the Community series , titled “Herstory of Dance”,  and again in the episode “Analysis of Cork-Based Networking” the following year. In 2013, she starred Short Term 12 .  appeared as a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson several times between 2010 and 2013.

In 2015, Larson played the sister of Amy Schumer’s character in Trainwreck . She also starred in The Room , a film adapted from the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue . The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and began its premiere on 16 October 2015. It received critical acclaim, especially the performance of Larson, which earned him several awards, including the Academy Award for the best actress, as well as a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award .

Larson joined the cast of Kong: Skull Island , along with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston with the filming that took place in Queensland , Australia .

In 2016, it was confirmed that Larson would meet with her director of Short Term 12 , Destin Daniel Cretton, for The Glass Castle. The script of the Lionsgate is an adaptation of the memories of Jeannette Walls . It tells the story of a successful young woman who was raised by her dysfunctional and non-conformist parents. Their world turns upside down when they move to New York to be close to it. Woody Harrelson is already in the cast as the woman’s alcoholic father. Naomi Watts is currently in negotiations to unite as Larson’s eccentric mother. The project is planned to begin production in Montreal around June 2016. Gil Netter will be producing.

In that same year, it was confirmed that Larson would be responsible for giving life to Captain Marvel , the new film whose release date in the United States is scheduled for March 8, 2019. In this way, she becomes the first woman protagonist of this character.

Music career

In 2003, she created a song called “Go” which was finally named “Go Goodbye” and “Invisible Girl”. She entered into a contract with Universal Music and Casablanca Records . That same year, he began promoting her first single, entitled “She Said”. The first time it was played on Radio KOL. This single is on the album Finally Out of PE . Her second single is titled “Life After You”. She also sang the soundtrack song from the film “Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus” entitled “Hope Has Wings”. The video of this song is available on the DVD of the film.
