Natalie Hershlag (born, June 9, 1981), and better known by the name of her actress, Natalie Portman is an Israeli actress. The name Portman is the family name of her grandmother on the mother’s side. She has been nominated for an Academy Award and has won a Golden Globe Award . Natalie is mainly known from the films Star Wars and V for Vendetta.

Biography
Natalie Portman is the only child of the couple Avner Hershlag and Shelley Stevens. At the age of three, Portman and her family moved to the United States. Portman graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor ‘s degree in psychology on June 5, 2003 . She is fluent in Hebrew, English , French , Japanese , Arabic and German . Her hair was shaved bald in 2005 to play a role in the film V for Vendetta .
In 2010, Portman got her best film so far, with the title Black Swan , a psychological-thriller about Nina, a ballet dancer who is confused about her current life, when she really wanted the highest ballet role in a stage, Swan Lake , she had to struggle to find where are facts and where is fiction. Nina herself has a double-minded disease, which makes her often hallucinate terrible things. Nina arrived at one thing in the end, she would do anything to get that highest role, including to kill. Portman received many awards for her acting in the film.
In 2011, Portman wiped out almost all awards for Best Actresses, including those from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Critic’s Choice Awards, BAFTA Awards and Academy Awards for the film Black Swan.
Personal life
Natalie Portman had a romantic relationship from 2003 to 2004 with Mexican actor Gael García Bernal , in 2006 with American actor Jake Gyllenhaal and in 2007 with American model Nathan Bogle and then with American singer Devendra Banhart .
In December 2010, Portman announced simultaneously her pregnancy and her engagement with the dancer and choreographer French Benjamin Millepied met on the set of Black Swan. They are the parents of a little boy born on June 15 , 2011 named Aleph , from the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. They were married on August 4, 2012 on the Big Sur coast in California. In October 2014 , with her husband she moved to Paris, where he was appointed director of dance at the head of the ballet of Opera. In September 2016 , it is announced that they are expecting their second child ; on February 22 , 2017 , she gives birth to a little girl named Amalia.
Career
Early career
Natalie Portman began learning to dance at the age of four and performed in local groups. At the age of 10, a Revlon agent asked her to be a child model, but she turned down offers to focus on acting. In a magazine interview, Portman said that “I am different from other children. I am more ambitious. I know what I am like and what I want, and I work very hard. I am a very serious child. ”
On school holidays, Portman attends a theater camp. When he was 10 years old, Portman auditioned for the 1992 Ruthless Off-Broadway Show, a musical about a girl who was ready to commit murder to get a leadership position in a school drama. Portman and future pop star front of Britney Spears was chosen as understudies for star Laura Bell Bundy. 1995-1999
During the mid-1990s, Portman had roles in the films Heat, Everone Says I Love You, and Mars Attacks !, as well as the main roles in Beautiful Girls. She was the first choice to play as Juliet in William Shakespeare Romeo + Juliet, but the producer felt his age not suitable. In 1997, Portman played the role of Anne Frank in the Broadway Drama adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank.
Also in 1997, Portman played the role of Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The first film, The Phantom Menace, began filming in June 1997 and was released in May 1999. After the production of The Phantom MenaceInitially she turned down the lead role in the film Anywhere But Here after learning that the film would involve sex scenes, but director Wayne Wang and actress Susan Sarandon (who played Portman’s mother in the film) demanded rewriting the script. Portman was shown a new draft, and she decided to accept the role. The film opened in late 1999, and she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Ann August. Critics Mary Elizabeth Williams of Salon called Portman “amazing” and said that “Unlike a number of actresses at her age , she’s not too whiny or too brave. “She then signed a contract to play the lead role as a mother of a teenage child in the film Where the Heart is, which was released in April 2000.
