Charlize Theron (born August 7, 1975 ) is a South African – American actress, producer and fashion model as well as Golden Globe / Oscar winner. She currently resides in Los Angeles. In 2003, she was the Oscar – winner for the best actress for her portrayal of the serial killer Aileen Wuorno in the movie Monster, which made her the first African to receive the award in that category. Two years later he received a second time an Academy Award nomination for her performance in North Country. Since 2007, Theron is a US citizen , although she still retains her South African citizenship.

Biography
Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Benoni in the then Transvaal province as the only child of Gerda Jacoba Aletta (née Maritz) and Charles Jacobus Theron. She grew up on a holding near Benoni, where she was at Putfontein Primary School from 1982 to 1988.
