Joanna Modes (Polish pronunciation: [jɔˈanːa ˈmodez]; born May 21, 1985) is a Polish-born international actress, businesswoman and charity activist. She gained media attention as a girlfriend of Formula One driver Robert Kubica. She comes from a wealthy and aristocratic background. She is the first daughter of Robert Bagration-Mukhraneli of the Bagrationi dynasty and Wioleta von Tiele-Winckler. She is a well-known social figure in London and Paris and a Founder of Modes Art Gallery Foundation.

Biography

Early life

Joanna Modes (born Joanna Bagration-Mukhraneli) was born on May 21, 1985, in Szczecin, Poland, to Robert and Wioleta Bagration-Mukhraneli. She has a younger sister, Viktoria Magdalena. Her family has Georgian, Italian, Polish and German ancestry, and they are interfaith.

Education

In 2004, Modes graduated from Marymount High School in Los Angeles, California and returned to Europe where she continued education at the Poznan Academy of Performing Arts PAPA, she also completed TV Presenting course in Polish National TV Academy TVP, internship in BBC Studios, and management course in London Business School.

Career 

Beginning

Originally she modeled at charity events, made a non-credited appearance in movies and occasionally performed in theatres and commercials.

Political activities

In 2006, she interned for the United National Movement political party in Georgia. Her involvement in politics harmed her family and
in September 2008 she became legally disinherited and changed her name to Joanna Modes.

Entrepreneurship

By the end of 2010, Modes owned trade and investment companies in Ireland, Cayman and Panama, film production company and stream radio in Brazil, software company in Romania, modelling agency in Poland and a boutiques in Italy.

Charity

In 2019, Modes volunteered to support charities during Covid-19 pandemics and in 2022, she founded the Modes Art Gallery Foundation, which provides grants to lifesaving charities.

Personal Life

In early 2009, Joanna sued her family for emotional abuse and achieved an out-of-court settlement, she also changed her name to Joanna Modes.

Relationship

In 2004, a-then-19-year old Modes drew social attention to her three-month relationship with footballer Chris Long. The couple dated for a few months and split up. Modes then returned to Europe, where she met F1 racing driver Robert Kubica. They became good friends and started dating in 2012, then parted ways and met again in 2017.
