Kate Elizabeth Winslet is an English actress and sometimes singer. Known for the diverse characters she has played throughout her career, she is perhaps best known for her critically acclaimed interpretations as Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility , Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic (1997), Celementine Kruczynski in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind , Sarah Pierce in Little Children , April Wheeler in Revolutionary Road , and Hanna Schmitz in The Reader (2008).

Kate Winslet was born on 5 October as as 1975 in Reading , Berkshire , England , UK . During the filming of Dark Season , Winslet, 15 years old at the time, began a romantic relationship with actor and writer Stephen Tredre, who was 12 years older than her.  had a relationship that lasted four years, ending by mutual agreement in 1995, but remained close until he died of bone cancer two years later.  Kate was not present at the Titanic pre-premiere in Los Angeles to attend her funeral in London ,  and described the experience of losing it as “incredibly heartbreaking.” A year after Tredre’s death, he met Jim Threapleton on the set ofHideous Kinky: Julia’s Journey , where he was an assistant director. They married in November 1998 at their primary school in Reading , and gave birth to their daughter, Mia Honey Threapleton on October 12, 2000.  Describing her marriage to Threapleton as a “disaster,” she said: “She was the only one time in my life that I lost control of my instincts. ” They divorced in 2001,  and Winslet believed that the separation had been “surprisingly friendly.”
